Good afternoon, It has been a busy week. I sent home with your student a manilla envelope, it contains their high frequency sight words. Oops, but I forgot the letter to go with it. Sorry. So Rainbow Words are the sight words for our kindergarten curriculum. Every Friday, I test your student to see how they are progressing. If they pass a word, I will add it to their ring and add new words to the loose words in the envelope. Practice these words with your children nightly, they just have to read them correctly, in a way that works for you and your child. On Friday, their green folder and the manilla envelope come back to school. I will send it home again on Friday afternoon. This is one of three pieces for homework. The other two are Lexia, which is not ready for you to use yet; and read to your child each night for 20 minutes. As they begin learning to read let them read to you for a few minutes and then you read to them. Have a great weekend!
