About
Hello families,
My name is Kathy Roché and I will be teaching Kindergarten in Room 9 here at Cobblestone Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year. I am very excited to have your student in my class. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and working with you as a team to support your child this year.
I am from Southern California and am new to the area and the Plumas Lake Elementary School District. I grew up in Ventura, California and it is where I raised my family. I attended Ventura Community College and California State University Channel Islands. In 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a Concentration in Education and then continued at CSUCI in the Credential Program. I have worked in the field of Education since 1989 when I started working as a noon aide and then got a job as a paraeducator. I worked as a Para for 14 years and then left to attend school full time. Since graduation, I have held many jobs as a teacher; however, this is my first full-time self contained classroom. For the past 2 years, I worked for the Rio School District as a Kindergarten Intervention Teacher. I am passionate about teaching and believe this will be an amazing year.
Outside of school, I am a mom with 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren. I enjoy camping, reading, watching movies, spending time with my family and friends, and I love to travel, especially a spur of the moment road trip.
I look forward to meeting all of you.
